FAB Audiobook Store

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how First Audiobooks Limited (“First Audiobooks”, “FAB”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles personal data in connection with the FAB Audiobook Store at fabaudiobookstore.com, including audiobook purchases, digital delivery, customer support and the optional Listener Club.

First Audiobooks Limited is incorporated in Gibraltar under Company No. 124089. Our registered office is Suite 4.3.02, Eurotowers, Gibraltar, GX11 1AA. Contact: info@firstaudiobooks.com.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to visitors to the FAB Audiobook Store, customers who purchase audiobooks, people who join the Listener Club, and people who contact us about the Store. It does not govern the separate audiobook-production service offered to authors through firstaudiobooks.com.

2. Personal data we collect

Depending on how you use the Store, we may process:

  • Contact data, such as your name and email address.
  • Purchase and transaction data, such as the audiobook purchased, transaction identifier, currency, amount, payment status and related fulfilment information.
  • Delivery data needed to arrange access to or delivery of a purchased audiobook.
  • Listener Club data, such as your email address and marketing preference, if you choose to subscribe.
  • Support communications you send to us.
  • Technical and security data, such as server logs, IP address, browser information and information required to protect the Store from misuse or fraud.

3. Payments through Paddle

Audiobook purchases may be processed by Paddle, which acts as Merchant of Record for the transaction. Paddle processes payment information and other data needed to complete the purchase, meet tax and regulatory obligations, prevent fraud and provide buyer support. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.

Paddle may provide FAB with transaction and customer information required to identify the purchase and arrange fulfilment, including a transaction identifier and customer email address. Paddle processes personal data under its own privacy terms for the parts of the service for which it determines the purposes and means of processing.

4. Audiobook delivery through BookFunnel

We use BookFunnel to provide digital audiobook delivery and reader support. Information required for fulfilment, such as your email address, the audiobook purchased and an order or transaction identifier, may be sent to BookFunnel so that it can provide access to the purchased audiobook and associated delivery support.

5. Automation through Zapier

We may use Zapier to pass the minimum information required to automate fulfilment between the FAB Audiobook Store and BookFunnel. This may include your email address, transaction identifier and information identifying the audiobook purchased.

6. Hosting and service providers

The Store is hosted using DigitalOcean infrastructure. We may also use email, security and technical service providers where reasonably necessary to operate, secure and support the Store. Providers receive only the information reasonably required for the service they perform and are subject to their own legal and contractual obligations.

7. How and why we use personal data

We use personal data where necessary to:

  • process and record purchases;
  • deliver purchased audiobooks and provide customer support;
  • maintain transaction, accounting and tax records;
  • prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents;
  • operate, troubleshoot and improve the Store; and
  • send Listener Club or other marketing communications where you have chosen to receive them.

Depending on the circumstances, our legal basis may be performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Store, or your consent.

8. Marketing

Joining the Listener Club is optional. Where marketing consent is required, we will send marketing communications only where you have chosen to receive them. You may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe facility provided in the message or by contacting us.

9. International transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside Gibraltar, the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area. Where applicable, transfers are made using lawful safeguards required by data-protection law.

10. Retention

We retain transaction and accounting information for as long as reasonably necessary to meet contractual, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention and legal obligations. Support and marketing records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for their purpose or until consent is withdrawn where consent is the applicable basis.

11. Your rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights relating to access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent. These rights are subject to applicable legal conditions and exceptions.

To exercise a privacy right, contact info@firstaudiobooks.com. You may also have the right to complain to the relevant data-protection supervisory authority.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, loss or disclosure. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

13. Cookies and similar technologies

For information about cookies and similar technologies used by the Store, please see our Cookie Notice.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our Store, service providers or legal obligations change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
